2nd Sundays: Beats Rhymes and Good Times

It had its first run this past sunday January 8th and I would have to say that it was a successful event. More than eight different artists as well as various other types of acts such as; Ian Quiet a performer that has more than music in his show. Also Black Belt Beats very own "FlexOne" was there performing his single "Greater Than Swag". The event took place in the doors of Shreveport's very own Club Status, and there are many more events planned for this venue as well.

Tipitina's Mr. Christopher graced the stage as well and he also provided sound for the performances. Tipitina's Foundation is a New Orleans based orgainization that has spread throughout louisiana within several years of becoming a heavy hitter in the music industry in New Orleans, Louisiana. Billy Huffman the clubs General Manager had this to say. "I am pleased to see people come together and make something different happen in Shreveport, I'm looking forward to seeing what more we can do here to make this event more of a success."

As I was leaving just before closing I talked with "Flex" and he was pretty excited about the event. "We just need to make sure that we have a definitive line up for the event once February hits so this time we can draw an even larger crowd of people." The Club offers a very cheap rate for drinks and nothing is watered down. They also have Penny Pitcher Thursdays, draft beer for a little of nothing and also $0.50 longnecks on saturday nights until 12am. At the end of it all, I'd have to give the 2nd Sundays two thumbs up.
